"Painting Europe" - Workshop

About the worshop "Painting Europe: Art in progress"
Between 11 and 23 April, the Manuel Cargaleiro Secondary School in Seixal hosted the exhibition "Painting in Europe: Art in Progress" during the week of the reception of our partners (Romania, Cyprus and Germany) of the FACE project Citizens of Europe) of the ERASMUS + program.
The motto of this exhibition "United in Diversity" and the European Year of Heritage, which this year is celebrated, were the inspiration for the work carried out by the 30 participants, 15 Portuguese from our school and 5 young people from each of the partner countries.
Building on the idea that cultural heritage is a link between peoples and that Europe has a diversity and wealth of heritage recognized by UNESCO, the young Portuguese have produced the "room sheets" with a copy of a monument or classified site as world heritage, with an illustration and a brief description. From the illustrative photographs, they selected "crops", that is, an excerpt from the photograph that served as the composition of the canvas painting. The screen illustration activity took place on April 17th and, after the exhibition of the 15 screens that joined those of other institutions, the participants proceeded to the election of the 4 screens, one from each country, that incorporated the exhibition "Painting Europe "That followed to the Basic and Secondary School of Macedo de Cavaleiros.
